Police said on Tuesday that a 25-year-old student committed suicide in the city when he could not repay the money he had borrowed to play online games.
A resident of Indrapuri hostel, Jitendra Vaske (25), committed suicide by hanging himself from the railing of the hostel’s stairwell at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, according to Ramprasad Malviya, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) at Bhawarkuan police station.
“A suicide note discovered in Vaskle’s pocket stated that he had borrowed money in order to participate in several online games that paid reward money. However, he continued to lose money at these games and was unable to pay back the debt. The amount of the loan has not been specified in the letter “he explained.
