Remedy’s Control is now free on the Epic Game Store

For today only, Remedy Entertainment Control is free in the Epic Game Store as part of an ongoing holiday promotion.

Control, which first released in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, received positive reception from critics and gamers. Remedy later backed the game by releasing it on Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. In addition, Control released on the Epic Game Store.

Epic Games has been running a promotion that has been running for 10 days. Every day players can log into their Epic Game Store account and redeem the free game of the day. Control follows arkane studios prey (2017), which was available on Christmas Day. Other titles that have been available as part of this promotion include vampire, Second extinction, The disappearance of Ethan Carter and Shen Mue 3.

Like with prey (2017) and others, players will only have 24 hours to redeem Control before it becomes unavailable. The game will then be accessible in perpetuity as long as the Epic Games account remains active.

On Twitter, nibel pointed out that the Epic Game Store promotion will indeed continue after Boxing Day. A ‘Mystery Game’ is listed as available tomorrow. However, it is still unclear what the game will be.

If you have an active Epic Games account, it’s always worth using any free game offered. Even if you don’t plan to play it right away. Control offers a unique world to explore and incredibly engaging pieces of downloadable content.

Fans of Remedy’s iconic Alan Wake would be well advised to try ControlAWE’s expansion, which features crossover content with the main character. Especially after Remedy announced the development of Alan Wake 2there’s no better time to reconnect with character.
